A movie that delivers a strong moral message.

There is the legal thing to do and the moral thing to do. Once in a while, they may conflict. Mothers have an instinct for this sort of conflict. And this mother has the unique (final) solution. Only Kathleen Turner as Beverly Sutphin, the mother, can carry this out as the demure conscience mother we wish we all had. I liked the courtroom scene where she puts on a classic defense. With any luck and a good defense, she may just get away with it. And what is with Juror 8 (Patty Hearst) wearing white shoes after Labor Day? We all learn something that may save our lives one day. A bonus is the appearance of Traci Lords (Roger Corman's film "Not of This Earth", 1988) as Carl's Date. If viewing a tape instead of a DVD, DO NOT FORGET TO REWIND THIS TAPE. By the way, tapes like vinyl may make a comeback.
