A monumental work

One of the first questions a reader asks after he finished a good book is 'what else has this author done with these characters.' This monumental work attempts to answer this question for the reader and librarian. It is a huge book that lists a large collection of authors and the series of books they have produced. When you first pick up this book you can't help but start leafing through it to see if they have included your favorites. You will be surprised in two ways. First you won't be able to imagine why some of your favorites are missing (J. K. Rowling's not there) and second, its corollary, why is this guy included (so many that I've never heard of). The authors must get hundreds of inquiries on these two questions. On the other hand the book can only be so big. The basic concept is to list (alphabetical by author) series books that are expected to be found in most medium sized libraries.

An effective and easy-to-use librarian's resource

Now in a fully updated fourth edition, Sequels: An Annotated Guide to Novels in Series is a gigantic compendium of listings of titles in series that are ideal for library collections - the authors have deliberately selected titles suitable for (and common to) a medium-sized public library, and weeded out obscure or unpopular series. Identifying novels by title, author, and a very brief (typically one sentence) description of the novel's contents, the fourth edition of Sequels includes series started since 1989 and updated through 2007. An effective and easy-to-use librarian's resource.
