September 11th,1683: The Andruszkiewicz Legacy

In Book 15 Poland has been devastated physically from the Cossack Uprisings and the Swedish Invasion. The Cossacks won their freedom and Poland lost the Ukrainian Rus. Then, the Swedes came from the north and took everything of value including all the state records and documents from every city, town, and village, including all church records of births, marriages, and deaths from every cathedral and church. Suffering these two setbacks, in the 17th century, the Poles did not lose heart, pride, or faith. They immediately set out to rebuild their nation with newer and better cities and towns more beautiful than before. In little more than twenty years, they had rebuilt their country and would become the most powerful nation in Eastern Europe. Poland is the nation that the Western World will turn to for salvation from the religious holocaust of the East. Even the Pope begs help from King Jan Sobieski to save all of Christendom. Jan Sobieski and his Polish Winged Hussars will face the Ottoman Empire. If not victorious in this battle, most of the known Christian world would be dominated by Islam. The Andruszkiewicz families would all partake in this battle against the Turk. Men from all three estates will join the Winged Hussars. The women are angry that the king forbids women from wearing the Hussar armor and wigs. The famed Women Warriors decide to take matters into their own hands. Their numbers have been decimated by their participation against the Swedes. Three lieutenants, Blanka, Kasia, and Wiktoria, were the only family members to survive the Deluge. In the past twenty years, they worked tirelessly to rebuild their ranks. They manage to form a company of 125. Their numbers had at one time amounted to more than a thousand members. They are a small force but as strong as ever. Kasia is determined to prove to king their worth and will fight hard in the upcoming battle.Great deeds, sacrifices, selfless acts of heroism will be performed by the Polish Army as they will affect the impossible in their climb of the Kahlenberg Mountain. The Turks are unaware of the Poles' participation in the Holy league and have every confidence in capturing the Golden Apple on September 11th.
