Sentimentally Sad

The inspiration for the book "Sentimentally Sad" is twofold. First, I wanted to bring attention to the many very difficult news stories that face our nation everyday. I want to celebrate those who have lost their life to gun violence, terrorism, disease, discrimination or war. Second, I was very moved by my visit to the American Cemetery in Normandy., France. The overwhelming loss of life was a devastation for me. To think each life lost was a person who never was able to reach his or her dreams, so that I could reach mine.
