Follow step by step using free software to build the files necessary to publish your story at no cost (until you buy your book). You are guided through every step to create the interior and the cover, and given additional no-cost options if you find some of the tasks too daunting to undertake. Scribus is the layout program for the interior, and GIMP is used for cover design. Both programs are available on Windows, Mac, and Linux. In addition, some steps are shown using LibreOffice to prepare your work for importing into Scribus. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the open source communities.
