A theoretical project describing results from music therapy for children with autism, and studies on humming and neurointegration. Through an Interpersonal Neurobiology lens, autism, and other disorders of neurology are described as a lack of neural integration which results in a default to threat processing in the brain. Music-listening can affect these pathways, helping sensory and emotional processing--but humming vibrates through the bones and body, and through the auditory canal, creating a balanced response to stimulation in the brain. This theoretical study provides a basis for further investigation and empirical study for a simple, self-directed avenue for mind integration in those of all ages with ASD.
