INTRODUCTION People should develop along the lines of their genius and should avoidimposing anything on them. We should try to encourage in every way their owntraditional arts and culture. We should try to train and build up a teamof their ownpeople to do the work of administration and development. Some technical personnel from outside will no doubt be needed, especially in the beginning. But we shouldavoid introducing too many outsiders into tribal territory. We should judge results, not by statistics or the amount of money spent, but by the quality of human character that is evolved. Jawaharlal Nehru, 1958 India has always been home to several tribal and indigenous communities. The tribal group in India is believed to be the oldest population of the land. It is believed that they have been dwelling here much before the advent of Aryans. India, as of today, has the single largest tribal population in the world. After theundertaking of the Aryans in the tribal regions of the Indian subcontinent, the tribal communities and the Aryans persisted to exist in separate spaces in terms of cultural, social, political lives. The National Policy on Education in 1968 was a huge attempt to equalize educational opportunities among all sections of the country. However, as stated in the National Education Policy (2020) "children from tribal communities continue to find their school education irrelevant and foreign to their lives, bothculturally and academically." The tribals even today largely remain isolated fromthemainstream in terms of social, economic, and political spheres. Our constitution,
