To give you a little more about the author, she was born in Pennsylvania with little recollection of it. First born generation Russian immigrant whose heritage has roots of Turkish and Russian immigrations which can be traced back to Russia to the early 17th century. Born on American soil, and influenced by Russian and Turkish cultural backgrounds from religious orthodox faith inspired the spirituality in the daily struggles of human existence and reflections in the meaning of life while over coming seemingly impossible challenges. While the poems have been inspired by real life events, the collection is not a reflection of her life verbatim, rather, it has been inspired by real life that may be directly or indirectly related while using metaphors and similes to create a colorful world of emotions from this human experience and varying prospectives.
