I disagree with the previous reviewer, who criticizes the book for not being a comprehensive collection of WWI-era poetry. This is unfair, since that is not what the book sets out to be: a concise introduction to the subject. Seen this way, the book is entirely successful, as it presents a wide variety of writers (45 if you count "Anonymous") in an easily portable & inexpensive volume. To demonstrate their intention to merely introduce readers to subject, the editors include both the Oxford and Penguin war poetry anthologies in their list of "further reading." Another plus is that by presenting the works in alphabetical order by author, it is really easy to refer to a particular work; if only all the poetry collections used this thoughtful approach! A final observation: I also have the Penguin anthology of WWI poetry, and the quality of the paper used & even the printing itself is noticeably inferior to that in the Wordsworth book: thank you Wordsworth for getting the details right!
