Very few "puzzle" poems that need to be deciphered in order to comprehend their meaning. Themes? Generally, those of modern lyric poetry. Occasionally gay subject matter; in one or two instances, topical. Not didactic. Not humorous except perhaps now and then. Character driven, many of the poems. "Serious poetry for serious minds." Yes.
