An expression of the Truth as brought forth by the Discoverer

I was lead to this book by a practitioner who told me it was a keeper. I had no idea until I had it in my hands what it truly contained. There haven't been that many writers on Christian Science through the years who have been able to grasp and deliver the message as clearly as Mr. Steves. Ones who come to mind are Edward Kimble and Bicknell Young, although there have been others. The former reviewer has stated my thoughts clearly. I am grateful to have found it here.
That Old-Time Christian Science
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 25 years ago
Through the years the statement of Christian Science has become increasingly watered down, moving toward a middle-of-the-road Protestantism that bears less and less relationship to the writings and sayings of its Founder. One only has to attend a so-called Christian Science lecture or pick up a so-called Christian Science Sentinel to document this trend. Clarence Steves left a body of straightforward, strong Christian Science addresses, the inspiration for which seems to have come from no personality, but simply from his direct connection with the essence of what Science has to say. This book is richly understandable and compassionate, while at the same time logical, radical, and demonstrable. No one who wants to have a clear, correct "window" on Christian Science, whether a Christian Scientist or not, can afford to be without Steves' addresses. They are the straight stuff, without personal interpretation. Immediately upon reading them, I said to myself, "This is the Christian Science I knew as a child."
