This volume is the first in the Sefer haLilith series that seeks to answer questions about who Lilith really is. This volume consists of primarily midrashic texts because the origin story of Lilith being Adam's first wife is found in midrashic literature and is the first piece translated in this volume.
This text also has an introduction explaining just how Lilith-type theology has gotten into churches and gives a real-world example of a church that taught Lilith-type theology right from its pulpit while the pastor and elders would deny they had done such a thing. Also, within this volume is introduced the idea of the El Achra, or Other God, that many churches, their elders and even seminary professors have all assumed the identity of themselves as a god. Another real-life example is given of a seminary professor who acted as a god to a former student rather than respectfully to this former student.
This volume also includes many texts about Lilith, the lilith type demons, but also the Qlippoth, Samael, and the Sitra Achra because all of those topics are all so intimately connected in Jewish thought. In this volume all the places where those terms originally showed up in the Hebrew are put into a bold font so they can be easily found. Along with the texts is given a celestial index which indexes all the angels, demons, spirits, or non-biblical gods mentioned in this volume. In doing so, fifty-eight new angels, demons and spirits have been found that are not found in many common angel and demon encyclopedias and dictionaries.
