Seeking Ian is a novel about the problems and decisions that an older brother must face and make in his search for his younger sibling who has disappeared under mysterious circumstances in the capital of a South American country in 2016. Finding the brother turns out to be dangerous and full of surprises. Jon Strom, the older brother, is an out of work writer and editor, who was born in Sweden from American parents but lives now in New York City. His brother Ian Strom is a freelance photographer with a mysterious background and secretive ways. Feeling as if he has stumbled into a snake pit, Jon cannot afford to trust anyone. He suspects even Vanessa, Ian's young South American girlfriend, who becomes his guide. That she works for the government feeds his wariness. More troubling is that everybody he meets seems to know something he doesn't, which makes Jon feel like he's in a fishbowl. But Ian is all the family he has. And Jon cannot leave until he finds what happened to his world-traveling brother. A huge hurdle is that Jon has only two weeks to find Ian before he must leave the country-or be expelled. His options are few. He may be in danger. One wrong decision and Jon could disappear as well
