Thank you for bringing us closer

I have to admit, I am not one to read my bible on a regular basis and often times I feel guilty about that. Nevertheless, when I read Seek His Face, most of those feelings of guilt were lifted. First of all, the book read as if it was written for me personally! It was like I had my very own personal bible written just for me with step by step instructions on developing a more PERSONAL relationship with God. Don't get me wrong I am not saying pack your bibles away, hardly. But, what I am saying is that for this book to be(not long and drawn out like many are)packs a powerful Hallelujah! It didn't make me sleepy, bored, run the words together, or keep reading the same thing a thousand times (cause I didn't understand it). Simply put, if you make me snooze you lose...well this one did no such thing! It is filled with just the right amount of scripture and enough spiritual messages that one can incorporate into their daily routines and the rest of their lives. Amen! The book touches on various subject matter. And in some instances the author uses her own experiences and reflections to make her point. She then parallels those situations or scenarios with biblical references. (The uncomplicated ones) And throughout the book, she constantly reminds her readers that everyone is vulnerable at times and everyone makes mistakes in life. And then she reminds us that "God loves you--no matter who you are, no matter what your past." 'Seek His Face' is a must read book and this is especially true for those who do not know the Lord and have no personal relationship with Jesus Christ. And it can also serve as a guide to those who have recently formed a relationship with our Lord and Savior. I keep the book on my nightstand alongside my Bible. When I need to read immediate scripture, specific scripture, words of wisdom, words of comfort, words of joy, I reach for 'Seek His Face'. When I need to read GOD'S WORD'S IN TOTALITY I reach for my Bible. '"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God"'(John 1:1, KJV) I pray that upon reading 'Seek His Face' it will be encouragement to all those that are seeking a relationship with/and those that desire a closer relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus. Jesus! so much power even "in his name."

A Word from Carla As Christians, many of us have an excuse or two as to why we don't spend more time with God in order to develop a closer relationship with Him. We say, "There aren't enough hours in the day. I'm too tired at the end of the day. I have too many things to do." Excuses keep us deceived. They are nothing but reasons stuffed with a lie. I have discovered over the past years of being involved in various Helps Ministries--dealing with my own flesh, as well as, dealing with people. We are lazy when it comes to spending time with God. We allow the ways of this world to keep us from spending time with Him. We rush off to our two and three jobs, our children's basketball games, soccer games, our office happy hours, and our Monday night football gatherings. I am sure the list is endless. For all of these excuses, this is the number one reason why I decided to write this book. This book was specifically written for Christians who have recently received Jesus as their Lord and Savior: Christians who are just beginning to have a relationship with God. My goal is to use this book as a method of encouragement for you. In doing this, I want to share a few small appetizers that I have experienced and learned so far in my Christian walk. I hope these experiences and testimonies will not only encourage you, but motivate you to talk to God everyday. In addition, Seek His Face was purposely written with short chapters. Even more so, this book does not exceed 10 chapters, because I want to encourage you to spend more time with God without taking up too much of your time! Also, I want to take a moment to point out something before you start your journey into this book. You will notice that I did not capitalize the `s' in the word satan. For this very reason: satan started out as a snake in the Book of Genesis. We talked about him so much throughout the books of the Bible. We gave him so much credit, that by the time we reached the Book of Revelation, he had become a fire-breathing dragon. Why? We gave him too much power and too much credit. As a result, I am using this book, Seek His Face, as a tool to teach us how to take back that power. So, as a spiritual exercise, you will not see the `s' in his name capitalized. Furthermore, throughout this book, you will discover simple spiritual exercises on how to build a closer relationship with God; while at the same time learning to speak the Word of God--His joy and peace into your life.
