Great for toddlers

These little books in this series are wonderful for little hands, hands that can sometimes be pretty rough on books. Each page of this board book is very sturdy and, unlike regular "lift the flap" or "pop-up" books, the sliders are also made very sturdy, yet still fun for little hands. In the Garden features wonderfully colorful illustrations with several sliders on each page showing the word for the item on one part of slider and then the picture of the item when the slider is moved. You can then encourage the child to find the pictured/worded item on the page in the illustration (which feature several things to look at on each page). Each page also has part of a brief story, as in a traditional board book. If you are looking for something that will hold up when perhaps lift the flap books are not lasting, this is it. Plus they hold attention longer because they can slide the little slider back and forth, find the item and so forth. I find they work best with my kids at the 18 mos to 3 years or so age range.
