Sue, a bright and attractive researcher working for the Foreign Office in India is found dead on a trip home to the UK. The cause of death is poison from seeds of a plant grown in India. The police are convinced the murderer is the dead woman's lover James but slowly begin to suspect Sue's flatmate Sarah ,whose behaviour becomes erratic. DI Margaret Clement and her team doggedly try to stop her doing whatever she has in mind, as the trial date approaches. The DI sidetracked by her own affair with a junior officer has a fight on her hands to bring James to justice.
