Madeline "Maddy" Fallon, Lady Redcombe, is not the lady and widow she pretends to be. Unfortunately, his weakness is Maddy. He doesn't want to let her go off on her own, and not just because it's his job to protect her. Seduced by Your Spell is a hot, fast-paced paranormal tale. Both Maddy and Jasper are fascinating characters. They're both hiding their terrible pasts behind masks of nobility. Maddy's powers were intriguing, and Jasper was all the more interesting for his lack of powers--except for his iron control, which almost seemed supernatural until his feelings for Maddy began to show through. The mystery held my interest very well, and it was liberally spiced with the romantic tension between Maddy and Jasper. They danced around each other so much I wanted to slap them both, and when they came together at last it was explosive! I really liked the backdrop of a secret coven of witches. The other witches and a host of other secondary characters made me want to read the first book in the series, as well as any future books Lois Greiman writes about them. Fans of historicals, paranormals, and smoking hot romantic tension will be sure to enjoy Seduced by Your Spell, just as I did! Cassie Reviewed for Joyfully Reviewed

SEDUCED BY YOUR SPELL (Second book in the Witches of Mayfair series) LOIS GREIMAN Historical Romance Avon Rating: 4 Enchantments Madeline Fallon, Lady Redcomb, is not who she seems. To the Ton, she's the mysterious widow. In reality, she's a powerful witch with growing powers, and part of the coven that resides at Lavender House. And she's undeniably--and perhaps unfortunately--attracted to Jasper Reeves, the man who wants her to forget this ridiculous idea of finding the missing girls and come back home. Jasper Reeves is the guardian of Lavender House, sworn to protect both its secrets and its inhabitants, while protecting secrets of his own. Like all its inhabitants, Jasper isn't quite who he seems to be either as glimpses of his true background come out through the story. But when Maddy leaves Lavender House determined to solve the cases of the missing girls on her own, Jasper finds himself tormented by the fact. When he finds out Maddy is now in danger, he's forced to help her on her search. SEDUCED BY YOUR SPELL has a great premise, but at times I found the action and storyline to be dragging. The relationship between Maddy and Jasper is fickle; it's either a fiery inferno or seemingly cold and emotionless on the surface, especially on the part of Jasper as he plays the role of guardian to the T. The chemistry however between Maddy and Jasper is quite something, especially later through the book. I did, however, like the mystery of the missing girls and the lengths to which Maddy is willing to go to in order to find them. My favorite scene was when Jasper crashed Maddy's party and finds out she's been telling fortunes to the Ton, a complete disrespect of her powers and putting herself in danger, all in an attempt to find some clue to where the missing girls could be. When he goes in the room with Maddy to get his fortune told, all the chemistry between them comes out as she unleashes the first hint of her powers and plants an image in his mind. Whew! The second of the Witches of Mayfair series

This is the concept of this series a group of people with magic powers are bought together to make a coven to work for the English government. They are helped grow and develop their powers and intertwine themselves into the English society. In this novel Madeline aka Lady Redcomb decides that she wants to find a group of missing girls but her organization doesn't want her involved. Reeves' is the leader of this group of women and does not want Madeline to risk her life. They both have amazing passion for each other but due to their working relationship they have always been cold other. As the mystery is being solved Madeline is coming into her more and more of her powers. The author took you on a roller coaster adventure of emotions, Enjoy! If you enjoy this genre I would also suggest; Under Your Spell (Witches of Mayfair, Book 1), Tempted By the Night , The Wedding Ghost (Zebra Regency Romance) and To Scotland, With Love.

superb investigative historical romantic fantasy

Widow Madeline Fallon has an image of a proper lady that she maintains amongst Polite Society as a cover. Beneath the masquerade of a prim aristocrat she is talented member of the Lavender House coven. When young women begin to disappear, Madeline investigates. Jasper Reeves has loved Maddie from the moment he first met when he saved her life. He hides his deep regard for the widow, but joins her on her dangerous inquiry in order to keep his beloved safe. However, Jasper also has recently suffered from sexual visions of him with Maddie that he believes is an attempt to cast a spell on him by an unknown adversary for an equally unknown motive; he needs no spell to envision him making love with Maddie. When Maddie returns his desire, neither is sure if it is love or a dark deadly enchantment. Readers will appreciate Lois Greiman's superb Lavender House investigative historical romantic fantasy (see UNDER YOUR SPELL) due to a strong atmosphere of enchantment that feels real. Accompanying the lead couple on their inquiry, the audience will feel the desire, the suspense and the spells that keep Jasper and Madeline together and hopping.
