This book is a very good read. The dialouge was cute and fun. It also has a litte bit of history mixed in, so that's a plus for parents. I am in middle school and I still love the Generation Girls. Buy it!

This book, about a 15 year-old girl named Nichelle Watson, is great for a young girl like me to read! Not only is it enjoyable about a girls life as she goes to modeling shoot for the most popular magazine, but she finds interesting artifacts on an amazing African Burial Ground. Nichelle and her friend, Barbie, are trying to stop a man name Curtis from building on the burial ground. In order to do this, though, they have to find hard core evidence to proove what Mr. Curtis is doing is wrong. When they do, it leads to a lot. I enjoyed this book very much, I couldn't even put it down when my favorite TV show came on. Secrets of the Past helped me understand that not only was there slavery in the South, but it took place in the North too! this book helped me want to learn more about American history.
