"Shouldn't you be dead?" It's not enough that Sophie Campbell discovers her neighbor's body. His dead ringer has to show up at her doorstep. But this man's no ghost...the instant attraction that sparks between them is all too real. College professor Cord Pruitt wants answers about his brother's murder. The woman downstairs must have seen something. But when Cord lays eyes on Sophie, all he wants to do is take her in his arms and protect her. With a killer on the loose, and all signs pointing toward Sophie as the next target, that's just what he will have to do....
Jennifer Greene's first foray into romantic suspense in a long time is a delight. Her language is always fun; her characters real and compelling, and the story interesting and different. Wonderful.
A Nice Romantic Suspense

Sophie Campbell is a lady with a trouble past and doesn't really trust anyone. Cord Pruitt is a professor that has been told that his brother Jon has been murdered and that Sophie might have something to do with it. When these two meet there is an instant attraction. Does Sophie have anything to do with Jon's death? I really enjoyed this book even though I figured out the killer was fairly early in the book and you will too if you read a fair amount of suspense. The main characters were well thought out and have believable issues of why they find trouble completely trusting each other. Even the Caviar the cat has a personality that is entertaining. The only thing about suspense romance novels is that the endings seemed rushed. One minute Sophie is mad at Cord and is having trust issues with him, the next minute we are finding out who the killer is. But I wouldn't pass up this book. This is a great book to read on a rainy afternoon with a nice cup of hot tea.
