Second Wind

Jenny's world had suddenly vanished. Someone led her to the hospital chapel where she sat quietly, waiting for family to arrive. She was comforted by the quietness.

Who am I? she thought to herself. Where do I go from here? "I'm lost without you, Danny," she softly whispered.

By now, some of the staff members were aware, and they stopped to offer their condolences. Dazed, Jenny responded as politely as she could, but deep within, she felt numb and lifeless. When everyone left, she continued in thought.

I built my whole world around you and your ministry. I never imagined life without you, Danny.

Suddenly, when it seemed that all hope was fading, Jenny whispered a prayer, "How can I go on without Danny? Is life worth living? O God, I need a second wind!"
