A great combination: suspense and romance

Dixe Land has done it again. In Second Chances, she questions what love really is and how a long term relationship can move from routine to endangered in a blink of an eye. An incredible plotter, she combines the love angle with deadly suspense. I especially appreciated the characterization of the evil antagonist, the psychiatrist, as I'm a retired psychologist myself. When Grace enters the lair of the psychiatrist undercover, I couldn't put down the book until I learned what happened behind those closed doors. Read this now. You won't regret it. Romance-Suspense fans wanting to be intertained by a top-notch writer will find a jewel in Second Chances. The characters and dialog are crisp as the story moves seamlessly from scene to scene. The predicament in which Andrew and Grace find themselves is a nightmare feared my many, and one that is extremely difficult to overcome. Dixie Land is a great story teller!

Dixie Land is one of the finest story tellers I know. She writes about ordinary people who face extraordinary problems. In Second Changes she creates Grace Garret, a strong admirable woman whom you will feel as close to as your sister or your best friend. Grace's strength is challenged when her husband's secret life is revealed. But her love and devotion to family and friends sees her through. And Land always finds a way to give her characters a new and happy life in the end. Five stars! A must read.
