A grand ship came into sight, and mother started us soft and low, a swaying lullaby to beacon seaway travelers to our devastating shores. It never failed; the seamen could not resist the call of the Siren. It came almost too close to one sharp jagged rock but passing that one always led them to the more dangerous one. She saw her mother smile, but it was never a genuine smile; it was more of a sneer. Seariana often wondered why her mother was like this, she knew she had a father, but the custom was to either kill him, eat him, or banish him. She wondered if this game wasn't revenge of sorts for custom. Seariana thought that her mother secretly loved her seaman, hence the this "game." She thought back one evening, as a boat sank and sirens pulled men under in this game, one face stood out. It was a boy, not a man, and he would drown with one word on his lips as the life left his eyes. "WHY?" It started doubts in her mind. Of course, she never let on that she had a doubt; she couldn't have doubts because of the siren call. This incident also set her on the course of her destiny and fate. Even being a siren and not knowing any different, she didn't believe in fate or destiny but in making her path.
