Seamless Integration of MANET and Internet

Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is used for establishing connectivity among wireless mobile nodes in situations where communication infrastructure is not present. A MANET can be interconnected to the wired Internet through intermediate Gateways, resulting in a heterogeneous wired-cum-wireless network which is called Integrated Internet-MANET (IIM). The architecture of future 5G network is envisaged to be a heterogeneous amalgamation of existing wired and wireless networks. The Integrated Internet-MANET is candidate architecture for realizing the use case scenarios of 5G network. In this book, efficient Gateway discovery protocols are proposed which result in efficient Gateway discovery and Gateway selection in IIM.
