McGrady's third novel in the Eamon Wearie Mystery series has a lot of things I like, and nothing I don't. Who-done-it is not a genre I usually purchase or read, but I find myself really enamored of the writing style here; it's tight, concise, with enough description to set the scene, but not so much that I find myself losing interest. Characters are complex and flawed (my favorite kind--those who resemble "real" people), and dialogue rings true. Caveat: Characters discuss women's issues in this novel, from the point of view of both estrogen and testosterone, so if you're not into intelligent, in-depth exploration of important issues, you may find yourself skimming. But for me, it's just another aspect of the book I enjoyed. Nice read.
