Part III should be required reading in complexity theory
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 25 years ago
I used this text when I was in nursing school and liked very much then. Now I am returning for another degree and find Part III, Psychosocial Principles and Nursing Applications still form a perfect base upon which to develop management theory. The summaries of psychosocial influences on behavior and perception are invaluable in understanding and predicting what elements work in particular social or organizational situations. The basic tenents are presented succintly and then applications to nursing are suggested. The tenents presented are based upon well recognized studies in behavioral science and in learning theory. The first parts of the text are a bit out-of date, but Part III alone is worth the price of the book. Lots of "Aha! So that's why."in this text.
