A systematic, integrated exploration of the relationship between science and technology and modern society - from a sociological and philosophical perspective. This description may be from another edition of this product.
McGinn's theories are conveyed simply, so I can understand them, yet he explores his ideas with great depth and breadth. I read this as part of a continuing studies university course, and I would strongly recommend it as part of the curriculum for any course which studies the ways in which science and/or technology impact society today.
This book comes from the heart of scientific reseach!

Robert McGinn's new book, was beautifully written, encorperating his personal life into the intracate story of his proffession, Science, Technology, and Society. With gripping Case Studies, to tender personal jokes, this book scores on a list of boring Technology books. Although it gets dense at times, it is an excellent book, and I reccommend it for part of a college course reader
