Thanks to science and technology, human beings have achieved their current levels of quality of life. The effect that science and technology have had and continue to have on improving our living conditions is evident in all areas. As a result, we live much better today than we did a hundred years ago. However, the importance given to science in the education system is low, if measured by the time and resources devoted to it. More effort needs to be made at compulsory education levels. Otherwise, the gap between citizens' knowledge of science and the arts will never be bridged. Therefore, together with education, information and popularisation are the best recipes for combating anti-science tendencies.
