Scientific understanding during Biblical times
The writers of the scriptures observed nature, and they used their scientific understanding of nature to describe God. By examining their ideas of wind, water, vision we can get insights into their thoughts on the Holy Spirit, and the meanings of baptism, communion, diseases and even food. The underlying thought put forward in this book is that, like the writers of the Bible, we should not be apprehensive of scientific findings. We continue a quest to understand the cosmos, but we remain in awe. We are like Job (Job 38:4) who is told by the Lord: "Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation? Tell me, if you understand."
