Science Fiction Gold: "B" Sci Fi rates an "A"

OK, I'm a sci fi nut, and have been since age 13...but never got involved in the movies of the 50's (and I was there) till my own 30's. The old Black and Whites described in this book are more than classics. They define what the era was, what we (thought) we believed, and literally, what we were scared of. "When Worlds Collide" is a current topic. "The Day the Earth Stood Still" (now a remake, and a decent remake, but doesn't have the "punch" of the original), "The Thing", "Them", "Creature from the Black Lagoon", and more, many with special effects by Ray Harryhausen...this is a great trip down memory lane, and a great checklist to start your classic science fiction movie collection.
