Good Prep for Tests but won't Develop a Love of Science

This book will strengthen a child's ability to read science texts/test paragraphs and extract meaning from them, but it is pretty dry stuff. I wouldn't use this book to teach concepts, but rather to review them, or perhaps to supplement another instructional program. The book covers concepts in Physical Science, Life Science, and Earth Science. I recommend "Developing Critical Thinking Skills Through Science", also by the Critical Thinking Company, as a much more interesting investigation of physical science.
