Science and Religion in dialogue

According to Michael Heller, the relationship between Religion and Science is characterized by apparent conflicts that has developed in the course of history out of methodological problems, misunderstanding and lack of respect for boundaries of study. According to Michael Heller, these are apparent conflicts which he prefers to call, Creative Tension. He shows that this is a necessary tension that should exist between Science and Religion because of the matter with which the two deal. This tension is creative because it should help Science and Religion to complement each other in responding to the human search of meaning in the universe. It should not deteriorate to destructiveness since it is the same man who does Science and Religion with the reason that God has endowed him with. The world is comprehensible because God created it and charged man with the gift of reason to conquer it, both by knowing and appreciating it, and by physically using it, guided by wisdom for his good without destabilizing it. Science and Religion, with proper understanding of their subject matter can always live together with minimal conflicts.
