The Science + History Book of Centuries is a blank timeline book designed for use by students and families who are using the Charlotte Mason method and who accept science. The timeline starts with the Big Bang and continues to 2050. The book includes space for student-created indices and notes. Each 2-page spread is assigned a set of dates which vary depending on when they were/are. The earliest time periods are broken down by geologic era rather than date and are therefore irregular in the number of centuries represented. Beginning with 10,000 BCE the 2-page spreads become more regular, moving from representing 10 centuries/spread, to 1 century/spread, to 50 years, then 20 years, then 10 years for the most recent/upcoming dates. The geologic era page spread includes the name of the era, how long ago the era took place, and how many centuries long the era was. The pages transitioning between the geologic time scale and the human-historical time scale show how long ago the era took place as well as the historical dates and how many centuries the 2-page spread represents. The largest section of the book only shows the historical dates and how much time the 2-page spread represents. This timeline is focused on representing centuries since it's a "Book of Centuries." Therefore, the amounts of time each 2-page spread represents is designated in centuries rather than years. I chose to use decimals rather than fractions in representing parts of centuries for formatting reasons, and because it continues with the more science-oriented theme of the timeline.
