The Black Forest is the topic of the exhibition of the Augustinermuseum, which includes a collection of paintings of the 19th and 20th century. Most artwork celebrates beautiful landscapes, tells the story of the sometimes hard lives of the people living there, and the change of the nature of that area. The exhibition shows about 70 paintings of artists like Emil Lugo, Hans Thoma, and Franz Xaver Winterhalter, as well as artists of the Gutacher Malerschule, like Wilhelm Hasemann and Curt Liebich.
