Rezension / Literaturbericht aus dem Jahr 2002 im Fachbereich Psychologie - Intelligenz und Lernpsychologie, Note: 1,1, Leopold-Franzens-Universit t Innsbruck (Institut f r Psychologie), Veranstaltung: Seminar Neuere Fachliteratur, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: We present the article of Kirschmann & R hm who on the one hand explored the role of gender and school-type differences in the view of anxiety of performance, school perform-ance and attribution in general, and on the other hand within the subgroup of success and failure motivated students of classes 6 and 8. The authors used the seldom described effec-tive strength, a figure of practical relvance. This practically important measurement of asso-ciation between treatment and effect is explained in a short chapter. - The investigation of the total sample showed low association concerning school-type and gender effects. How-ever, junior high school pupils attributed failure much more to missing talent than grammar school pupils. Zusammenfassung Dargestellt wird die gleichnamige Untersuchung von Kirschmann & R hm, die in ihrer Studie einerseits die Rolle von Geschlecht und Schultyp im Hinblick auf Leistungsangst, Leistung und Attribution ganz allgemein untersuchten, aber auch innerhalb der Subgruppe von Erfolgs- und Mi erfolgsmotivierten bei Sch lern der 6. und 8. Schulklasse. Die Besonderheit dieser Untersuchung liegt in der Verwendung von Effektgr en als Ma e der praktischen Relevanz. Demzufolge wird auch in der vorliegenden Arbeit dieser Erg nzung zum "klassischen" Signifikanztest Beachtung geschenkt und die Effektgr e kurz skizziert. - Als Ergebnis der Studie zeigte sich in der Gesamtbetrachtung in Hinsicht auf den Schultyp und auch auf das Geschlecht praktisch wenig bedeutsame Unterschiede.
