Adolescence is a phase in the human development cycle that has been historically constructed through cultural advancement, and which encompasses biological, social, psychological and anthropological aspects. This stage includes significant vicissitudes in all its dimensions, where the body leaves the biological and social "exoskeleton" of childhood to take on a new form that encompasses new behaviours, the reaching of other cognitive frontiers, the search for identity and self-concept, sexual maturation and, in educational terms, professional choice. All these changes that occur in the individual going through adolescence influence and interfere with the choice of future occupation, which clearly suffers from various social interferences. Career counselling is a process made up of a wide range of tasks that provide young people with self-knowledge and socio-professional information about careers, professions, fields of work, technical qualifications, etc.
