Lonnie Trujillo is a survivor with a reputation of getting the job done. Born in the rocky mountain state of Colorado, he worked twenty years in the building trade industry. He, later, journeyed east to the show me state of Missouri where he earned a Bachelors of Science degree in K-12 Vocational and Industrial Technology Education, a Masters degree in Vocational Education and a Specialist degree in School Administration. He raised tens of thousands of dollars to develop and implement more than a dozen Industrial Technology programs through local and state grants including an A+ Grant that helped place hundreds of high school students into post secondary programs. In this unblushing candid memoir, Trujillo shares more than two decades of experiences while teaching in five different school districts in the Midwest. He describes his experiences working with colleagues, students, parents and gatekeepers. He tells his story about the good, the bad and the ugly side of teaching while working with today's challenges in the trenches of education. A great read for any person aspiring to become an educator or anyone who has ever walked into a classroom.
