A colleague informs me obligingly that the father of so and so works in the cabinet of a minister and that such another directs a television channel. Over the months, I discover students who take private lessons at the first bad grade, have coaches, prepare for Sciences Po on Saturdays in private schools or follow math courses during short vacations. After the baccalaureate, they continue with a business or engineering school, in preparation, but also in Canadian or English universities. All this has a cost.
