This book is about an important part of my life. In Iran, almost all boys need to serve two years in the military system. This compulsory service is compensated by very minimal wages (basically nothing). If we do not do it, we cannot officially work, marry, have a passport, or even get our driver's license. This happened to me at a most critical time in my life, and I lost my job because of it. This happened to me when my wife and I were expecting our first child. This period of my life was bold and also mysterious. This is basically the experience of all boys at that age in Iran, and so I decided to write a book to share this experience with others. This book can be useful for young generations in Iran to learn about what to expect from their military service. Readers outside of Iran will gain another view of a country which has been in isolation from the rest of the world for almost forty years.
