Like its predecessors, "Scenes Keep Happening" provides the only good source that I have ever found of scenes written specifically for high school actors. Ms. Krell-Oishi is a gifted writer who has a good sense of character and knows how to write dialogue that students can relate to. She has lots of scenes with 3 or more characters, and good scenes for girls (something I am always looking for). Another advantage of the scenes is that they are self contained. They don't come from a play and therefore do not require the students to read the play in order to play the scene. I love these books and cannot imagine teaching theatre without them. This book also has some longer scenes designed for your more advanced students. I have tested these scenes many times with my students and they always love them.
