Fantastic

This book is a favorite with my 3 and 2 year old daughters. I found each time I read it to them they would get more and more excited until finally they would end up running around, willy nilly, round and back, screaming "It's the cat! It's the cat!" A good one to avoid around bedtime, although it's now a game the three of us can play with only a piece of string and mom as the cat!

Love this book!

This book is a favorite of both my 3 year old daughter and me, her 36 year old mother. I have a great appreciation for the main character, Squeek, who tranforms from a "Scaredy Mouse" to a brave mouse who overcomes his worst fear. My daughter draws inspiration from Squeek all the time. What more could a parent want from a book? The rythmic pattern of the writing is inspirational to young readers and highly entertaining to little ones who are still being read to. My tip for parents who are reading this to their young children - read it like you're a child. I'm really animated when I read this one...and that's half the fun!

Absolutely precious!!

Scaredy Mouse has been my daughters favorite book for over a year now. We read it at least once a day. It is so cute I haven't gotten tired of it yet!!!

EXCELLENT BOOK FOR PRESCHOOLERS

Scaredy Mouse is my son's favorite book. He is two and a half, and the first time I read this book aloud, he loved it! Squeak and his sister, Nibbles are trying to sneak to the kitchen and squeak keeps on thinking that he is getting caught by "THE CAT!!" when actually he is just seeing things that look like the cat... until the end when Squeak and Nibbles end up catching the cat themselves. If you are a parent who likes to read with lots of enthusiasm, then you MUST HAVE THIS BOOK!!

Great read aloud for preschoolers

I am a librarian currently doing 3 toddler/preschool storytimes each week. I've shared this book with many, many children and they really get a kick out of it. They particularly like the repetitive phrase "Squeak went this way and that. Willy nilly round and back." By the end of the story many children are repeating that back to me. I just shared it with a group for the second time and they got really excited when I got to that part and quickly chimed in. Children also like being able to recognize what Squeak is seeing each time he thinks he sees the cat. It also has great endpapers! I would highly recommend this book.
