Amber Blaine is a young woman just starting her life, but she has no idea what she's going to do with it. Her realization that her arts degree is not worth the paper that it was printed on it is brought to light by her parents, who decide in their infinite wisdom that it's time for her to stand up on her own 2 feet. In this regard, she finds herself out in the cold alone with only $500 to her name. She soon finds that her true calling is something that she will never suspect and that love is, as close as bumping into somebody. Jasper Reynolds is a cowboy with millions of dollars that comes from not only oil, but from several other ventures that keeps him on the edge of his toes every day. He thinks that women are after only one thing and he has no desire to give in her to his penchant for lust, until he finds the one. He does not realize that love and hate can be the same thing and just as destructive. Amber comes to work for Jasper and in her duties; she begins to see that somebody is out to get him. She tries in vain to convince him that his life is in danger, but he doesn't see it that way. What he does see is that she is available and he wants to pursue her in a different way than any other girl. He has no desire to break her like one of his prized thoroughbreds, but he does want something more than just friendship. Can they find that, or is somebody going to take it away from them by force if necessary?
