Savannah's Choices

A friend recommended this book to me and I want to pass on the favor to everyone. I thoroughly enjoyed all the characters and the story line. I couldn't put it down but hated to come to the end of the book. I'll be watching for Donna Ketchbaw's next book.

Intense novel

"Savannah's Choices" detours from other novels in the love genre because it deals with revenge (a la aka J.R. of the "Dallas" series), and is the story of protagonist Savannah Leon who suffers bitter disappointment in love yet learns from it and afterward is able to reach deep within to find a remaining vestige of self-worth. She then reinvents herself and goes on to achieve the pinnacle of success, ultimately setting out to destroy the person most responsible for the life-altering choices she had to make. The choice Savannah makes to leave the comfort and familiar security of her life and family is a turning point fraught with obstacles beyond imagination. This is a most powerful read. Ketchbaw masterfully weaves the plot to its climactic end while blending and reinforcing the strength of her characters toward a most powerful conclusion. She tells this story so masterfully it is difficult to believe this is the author's first novel. Certainly, the research alone would have been a daunting task for even a seasoned writer. In the future, I anticipate other wonderful works by this author.

This is a great book

This is a wonderful story. The author obviously worked hard at creating a cast of characters that vary in so many ways that there is a personality for all to relate to and care about. It is a novel with heart. I could not put this book down which is why when people asked me what I did over Thanksgiving break I replied by saying "I ate turkey and spent a great deal of time in my jammies reading a fantastic new book".

Choices

This is a great read! I really liked the format the book is in, a little bit shorter than usual chapters makes reading to the end of the chapter doable. I don't know why I say that because I can't put it down and read several chapters at sitting.

Couldn't put it down!

Loved this story! I read it in 2 days because I could not wait to see what happened. It will make a great TV movie. Donna Ketchbaw winds a great story with such detail and anticipation that the reader is driven into the tale and becomes a part of the characters. A must read for any avid novel reader!
