Don Winslow is a captivating writer who will have you spinning the pages in any book he writes, but in this one, he takes on a certain element that we might recognize today as those who crowd the bars and beaches during the pandemic and who defy mask mandates in the name of “freedom”. I obviously am not going to ruin the book by telling you how Don Winslow carries this off, making it so much fun to read, but I absolutely encourage you to read it. And read Cartel and the rest of them. They’re all great.
