As occult practices have been common in Kerala from ancient period onwards just like any other cultures, Satan worship has also been prevailing in our community. It is difficult to say definitely whether the traditional Indian belief is theism, atheism, polytheism, dualism etc. for all those aspects are immersed in one or another way. However it is a fact that people prayed to god and gave offerings to them in their needs. Gradually this approach has been turned to occult practices. There is no decrease in people's approach towards these even in this era of scientific development. Hence it is important to know the impacts of these in our community. This paper is an attempt to analyze the roots and reasons behind Satan worship and occult practices in general and their traces in Kerala.
