Reading Problems, Leaving Buffalo, and Northeastern Maine

This book may be very good for students who suffer humiliation because of their reading difficulties. Sarey, a little girl who has problems reading, leaves Buffalo where her family is unhappy to live in Northeastern Maine. Living is such a rural area takes some getting used to when one has to build their own house and dig a well for water. Are Sarey and her family up to it? Will Sarey be able to do better in a rural school? Read the book and find out how her family fares.

great for kids who have had reading issues

wonderful story--fast pace and yet lots of details that really help capture the scene and the personalities. I recommend for the 11-14 year old who have had or know people that have overcome reading or learning issues. first rate!~

A marvelous tale!

This book is a must have for teachers and others who work with children. It shows a teacher power to transform a child's life and the graceful, caring ways it can be done. It also is a heart-warming tale of one child overcoming the stigma of dyslexia and the pain of not belonging. Sarey is a wonderful character, and her struggles will delight readers.
