It's a fictional story with a realistic concept of hope. It teaches kids to put things in chronological order using numbers. It also helps kids with the recognition of numbers and how they are spelled. Making lists helps us be prepared. When a person make a list it is hard to forget things. The book also gives a childlike since of hope, which is not stressful but simple. When kids hope for something they are constantly asking about what they hope for. They also make pictures of what they are hoping for and most certainly they don't give up until what they hope for becomes a reality.
