Join the Claus family as they bring Christmas magic back to the North Pole in James Patterson's uplifting story of holiday cheer. When Warrie Ransom, the Big Boss of the Exmas Express Company, decides to buy Christmas and rename it Exmas, the Claus family can't believe their eyes. Everything at the North Pole seems to change overnight-the elves stop making kids' favorite toys, the Christmas doves won't fly or sing, and no one seems to laugh anymore. It looks like Christmas is going to be ruined. But then the Claus family's daughter, Chrissie, remembers something she had learned from her dadremembers something she had learned from her dad: you must believe in something bigger than yourself. With a little help from her dad's helpers, Chrissie-as santaKid-delivers presents to children on Christmas eve, sending Warrie Ransom back to where he came from After all, when you believe in something, magic can happen.
I really enjoyed this story. If you have children this is a great story for bedtime on Christmas Eve!(Or anytime, any age!)
Santa Kid

My husband buys a special book for each of our Granddchildren each Christmas and this year he picked Santa Kid, because he buys all the James Patterson books for himself. The Illustrations were beautiful and it was very well written. The children all loved it the ones who can read it themselves and the ones who had to have it read to them. Now it will be in their collection of special books from Papa.
Pleasantly Surprised

I have been a James Patterson fan since the first Alex Cross novel but I had never thought of Patterson as a children's author. When I flipped through Santa Kid in the book store I had to check the authors picture to see if it was the same James Patterson. The book is very well written and illustrated and nothing like Patterson's adult novels. I loved it, and despite reading the whole thing standing up in the store I bought it and added it to my children's book collection - By the way I dont have kids so this was a book appreciated by an adult.

Michael Garland beautifully illustrates this book. The pictures pull the children into the story. The only sound I heard while reading this to my class was "I can't see the page". I was a bit concerned (class size of 12 w/ 9 boys and 3 girls) that the boys would not be interested or as into the book as the girls, since SantaKid is a female. I could not be more mistaken. This book is the hands down winner over The Polar Express. You will not be disappointed with James Patterson's SantaKid. Happy Reading
Good book!

This is a good book which will bring you lots of enjoyment and laughter. It is NOT a mushy Christmas story but a fun one. I have to warn you though... my daughter is 5 years old and she doesn't understand the concept of big corporate takeovers! This book is aimed toward older children, I think (maybe 7 and up?) and even adults. Also it's a fairly long-ish story and definitely not a quick bedtime book. These are not complaints, just warnings so you know what you're getting. I will probably put it away for a few years. Enjoy!
