John is a bad little boy, he destroys things, throws a fit, gets mad when he doesn't get his way, kills the family dog whenever his parents get one, and even insists on lying and exposing himself nude to his younger sister. On a trip to a Caribbean Island, he meets the spirits of two voodoo practioners who manage to give him power over the sand limited only by his imagination. Which he puts into great effect when they go home to Arizona, first by killing his father and preying on anyone who is susceptible to evil and the unwary. From killing violent vagrants on up to getting juvenile delinquents to willing serve him, leaving his sister and mother clinging to their faith and his sister's friends to fight it out against supernatural evil. Johnstone truly was a master of the horror genre, and he leaves you wishing for more.

This was a great book. This was the first I read by this author and now I am hooked on his work. The details were very intense and it was a very creepy book.
