Their flight crew consists of Miguel, Susan, and Rob. They are being led by CIA Analyst Aubree, who believes she knows everything and that she's in complete control. One of the terrorists, Khaled, reportedly has information about an attack that is schedule to take place against the U.S., but he refuses to talk. Aubree alludes that she's trying to find a mole, who is working inside the U.S. Military and Intelligence sectors. During the flight and as their personalities conflict, the airplane is shot down in a remote area. After waiting to be rescued, they decide to try and walk to a remote village, where they believe they will find help. While being pursued by Taliban fighters and engaging in a running gun battle, the group makes it to the village, only to discover that an American soldier is being held captive at the village and is getting ready to be executed. The group manages to rescue the American soldier, but soon discover that someone within the group is helping the Taliban and that the mission was not sanctioned, as Aubree has went rogue. Khaled has been branded a traitor by the Taliban, which wants him dead, with this fact encouraging him to help the MARINES, but the MARINES soon discover that Khaled was the one responsible for kidnapping the American soldier and that the American soldier also planned his own kidnapping, in order for the Taliban to ambush the MARINES and Aubree. As the group fights to discover the "truth", the MARINES finally discover that Khaled is actually a CIA agent, who has been working undercover in the Taliban to gather intelligence.
