"Sammy's Simile Adventures in Chicago" is a story of adventure. This book will allow its readers to experience the city of Chicago in their mind. Sammy "visits" places like Navy Pier, Michigan Avenue, the Shedd Aquarium, Willis Tower, and the Lincoln Park Zoo. At the start of the book, the reader will get a brief lesson on what a simile is. The readers are encouraged to try and locate the similes throughout the book. There is a key at the end of the book, where the readers can see if they located all of the similes. The artwork is exaggerated to fit each simile. For example, when Sammy is at the Lincoln Park Zoo, he says he sees, "A tiger who had rows of teeth as sharp as knives." The artwork shows a tiger with teeth that look like knives. It can be used as a teaching tool, or just a fun book for kids to enjoy.
